I have been using Stripe for months, processing a significant amount of money through their platform and paying their processing fees on every transaction. After all that business, I received ONE chargeback, and Stripe decided to restrict my payments and hold my funds.
I never created a Stripe Link account or explicitly intended to sign up for a separate payment service. I simply wanted to make a one time payment.
If you run a business with large advance payments, don't rely on Stripe. They can hold your money for months on a risk score they won't explain.
KYC verification should not take weeks without any update, and businesses should not have to upgrade to a paid plan just to receive basic assistance with critical account-related issues.
Stripe held 25% of my customer payments and gave me no clear explanation for why my account was triggered. I tried getting answers, but calls went unreturned and I received little meaningful help.
Stripe closed our business account and suspended our payouts, leaving approximately $5,100 of our business earnings inaccessible.
